NEW GUIDELINES TO ENSURE LOCAL FIRMS GET A FAIR GO
The Australian Government is seeking comments on proposed new guidelines for import duty concession schemes to encourage a fair go for Australian industry and reduce costs for major projects, businesses and consumers. NAMES - TRADE MARKS, COMPANY, BUSINESS, DOMAIN NAMES - WHAT DO THEY ALL DO?
One of the first steps you will take in setting up a business is to register a business name. But where do trade marks, company names, business names and domain names fit in, and what do they all do? If you are thinking about a new product or service and you want to establish an image for it, you should also be thinking about a distinctive trade mark under which to market. The ATO has released an expanded range of small business benchmarks. They provide small businesses with 'a snapshot of what, on average, is happening in businesses operating in a particular industry by providing a measure of various business costs in relation to turnover'.
